IARTS 3PE3 – Perspectives E: Key Issues of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Arts

This course examines artistic practices that challenge systemic inequities through the lenses of body, identity, community, and place.

Drawing on frameworks from testimony, techno-feminism, decolonial aesthetics, and queer/trans-feminisms, students will explore how artists use their work to resist oppression, reclaim narratives, and envision alternative futures. Through artist case studies and research-creation projects, students will develop skills in arts-based research, ethical engagement, and collaborative production, culminating in original works that integrate critical reflection with creative practice.

Linked instructions are accessible only while the course is in session.
