This course explores audio-visual self and collective storytelling, emphasizing artistic observation as a critical activity to portray cultures, social structures, political contexts, and community environments. We will review and practice strategies and techniques such as point of view, subject matter, narrative and multi-narrative arcs, style, character portrayal, storyboards and scripts, emphasis, and rhythm and tempo.

This course uses a maintenance-based grading system. All students begin the term at 100 points, and grades are maintained through consistent engagement, preparation, and completion of process work.
