Digital Mixed Media Animation – Part 3

Video compositions from previous students.

Objective

Finalize your Mixed Media Animation Composition by assembling your digitized frames into a fluid animation and enhancing it with royalty-free sound and titles.

This is your last step: bring together storytelling, analogue intervention, and digital sequencing to create a complete, expressive short film.


Materials Required


Activities

Complete the following activities in class. Ask your professor or TA for support as needed.


[30 min] Import Your Frames Into Video (Individual Work)

Task: Individually, assemble your analogue-enhanced frames into a short animation using the tutorial provided.

[30–40 min] Combine Group Animations + Add Sound (Group Work)

Task: Collaborate with your group to create a single, unified short film.

Submission Form (Group Work)

Create a 1-page PDF document that includes the following:

  1. Title of the Video Composition

    Choose a clear or poetic title that reflects your work.

  2. Still Image / Screenshot

    Insert a still frame from the final video that captures the mood or visual essence of your piece.

  3. Short Description (3–5 sentences)

    Briefly explain your concept, what the video explores, and how you used sound and movement to build atmosphere or narrative.

  4. Author Names + Short Bios

    List all group members with a 3-line description each.
